About this course:
This course covers different herbal medicine and gardening topics once a month (Saturday or Sunday) for 5 hours during April-December 2024. Classes are held in Oceanside at a home with a well-established food and herbal garden for hands-on learning and instruction. Living by the cycles of Mother Nature’s seasonal movements is the basis of this mentorship, creating a framework that of study that builds a personal relationship with plants to your system as a whole (body, mind, spirit) and a relationship with your environment (the greater body of our Earth). In this year-long course, we will pair foundational herbal medicine topics taught through storytelling combined with the science of medicine and the art of healing, alongside permaculture-based hands-on gardening experience for an all-encompassing teaching of Earth stewardship, greater self-sufficiency, and deeper understanding of the self in relation to the whole. Throughout the course of the program, you will be guided with step-by-step instructions to use our garden as a model for building your own garden sanctuary at your home.
Each attendee is asked to bring a dish to share for our class potluck lunch.
