About this Event
"In some native languages, the term for plants translates to 'those who take care of us.'" - Robin Wall Kimmerer.
This Herb Walk is for anyone who feels drawn to reconnect with the land & nature. This walk invites you to explore amazing teachings of our plantcestors, and some of the traditions that have kept their teachings alive. You'll learn about traditional uses as well as how to identify them, all while deepening your connection to nature.
What to expect:This area is very accessible with restrooms available. We'll meet early to avoid the summer heat. As we walk, we’ll dive into the basics of plant identification as well as traditional plant teachings. You’ll learn important identification techniques, traditional uses, gathering etiquette, but more importantly, we'll gather to meet our plantcestors as living beings that span past our limited modern understanding of what plants are and what roles they play in their immediate ecosystems and beyond.
