Hemming Techniques – Clean, Professional Finishes
This class focuses on building strong, reliable hemming skills you can use on everyday garments and handmade pieces. You’ll learn how to measure and mark hems accurately, use both hand and machine techniques, and choose the right finish for different fabrics so your work looks clean, polished, and intentional.

What You’ll Learn in Hemming Techniques:
Hemming Foundations
We’ll break down why hemming matters, how hems affect garment fit and length, and how to choose the right hem for different types of clothing.
Measuring & Marking for Accuracy
You’ll learn how to properly measure, mark, and press hems so your finished garments look clean, even, and intentional.
Hand vs. Machine Hemming
We’ll cover when to hand-hem versus machine-hem, including invisible hand stitches and clean machine finishes.
Hemming Different Garments
Learn how to hem pants, skirts, dresses, and sleeves, with tips for straight hems, curved hems, and tricky fabrics.
Finishing Techniques
You’ll practice professional finishing methods like blind hems, double-fold hems, and clean edge finishes to prevent fraying and ensure durability.
