Big Sugar was an iron man test of musical endurance set against a backdrop of personal turmoil and creative pressure in the 1990s. The cultural experiment of Detroit blues meets Detroit Rock City meets Kingston Ghetto recipe became a force that burned like a vacant inner-city house fire. The unlikely success of the Roots Rock Reggae crew in Hugo Boss suits during the height of “grunge” bought the creative freedom to drive on. And drive on they have.
