About this Event
WE'RE BACK! YEAR 3 AT THE HISTORIC HEMET THEATRE.
Did you know films are being made right here in the Inland Empire? There are even filmmakers who LIVE in Hemet and they have films premiering this weekend. The Hemet Film Festival has grown into a one-of-a-kind celebration of independent film at Hemet's oldest (and most beautiful) venue.
We'll be screening short films in various blocks by category (Animation, Experimental, Comedy, Local, et cetera). Each block is about an hour followed by a quick Q&A with the filmmakers in attendance. We build in a lot of hang out time so the filmmakers can connect with one another and experience the flavor of Downtown Hemet. We look for movies with that DIY attitude: big dreams, small budgets. Necessity breeds creativity! That's our motto.
We are also proud to have the world premiere of LYTLE CREEK, a feature film directed by Nathan San Filippo (talented local filmmaker and the media teacher at West Valley High School). The film will screen on November 1st @ 7PM.
Speaking of high school, we are also excited to present a Student Showcase with short movies made by West Valley students. And these movies are hilarious, touching, personal and so impressive for first time filmmakers. It's the event we are most excited about.
As always, All-Access Passes are only $20. This is the best value AND way to support the fest. If you just want to support a friend or family members, tickets for individual blocks are only $5. And if you stay and watch ALL of the movies this year, you will be entered into a very special raffle... the likes of which no film festival has ever been crazy enough to attempt.
