Thanksgiving time again? Not yet, but we have to start now! It IS at the AMVETS POST 40, it will not let me tag them. Doors open to the public at 12;00 pm (noon). Event staff and volunteers will be allowed in no earlier than 9:30 am. We are able to get in the door Friday and set up, so that does make it easier Saturday am. We will still be providing haircuts- Julie Pitts and Tara Nance.
We will also be purchasing 2 metal detectors- wand style.
For those that want to make donations, we are in need of the following things:
-20 turkeys (no larger than 18 pounds or will not fit in fryers).
-15 gallons of cooking oil
- single packaged toothbrushes
- single wrapped bar soaps
-travel (hotel size) shampoos and conditioners
We cannot accept RAZORS, MOUTHWASH, TAMPONS or any stained clothing or bedding. We can accept clothing/blankets/coats/gloves/scarves donations.
We do need volunteers for this event! Things will be setup a little differently this year to utilize more of the space available. YOU ARE ALL WHAT HELPS THIS EVENT GROW! We cannot thank you enough. See you in November!
