Thank you to Regions Bank for sponsoring this build of 40 beds for children in Bradley County!As a volunteer, you will have a chance to learn how to use woodworking tools such as saws, drills, sanders and many other pieces of equipment. There also many stations available that do not require the use of power tools. There is a role for everyone!
You will learn how to measure, level and make true wood cuts; how to sand and stain wood; and even get to see how branding a bed works!
There are two shifts you can sign up for ONE or BOTH!
Shift 1 (7:00am - 10:30am) consists of setting up for the build and building.
Shift 2 (10:30am - 2:00pm) consists of finishing building the beds, tearing down from the build, and unloading built beds at storage unit. The end time of 2pm is approximate- it may change depending on how long it takes to finish up!
At SHP, we fully believe that a bed is a basic need for the proper physical, emotional and mental support that a child needs.
When it was brought to our attention that the need for beds went far beyond our own neighborhoods, we stepped up and took initiative. We’re a national organization answering the call to a national problem.
NO KID SLEEPS ON THE FLOOR IN OUR TOWN!
