Over the course of MACFest 2024, the National Library of Scotland will be inviting Muslim community groups and organisations to visit the Library for an introductory tour and a handling session with items from our collections.
Items that might be of interest include editions of the Qur’an in Arabic and in translation, books on Islamic culture, calligraphy, art and architecture from around the world, early Arabic books printed in Europe, theological commentaries, scholarly and academic works, and magazines, leaflets, posters and other ephemera, often produced by local communities in response to contemporary events.
Library curators will be on hand to answer visitors’ questions, and we will tailor visits and the items shown to the interests of the visiting group.
