About this Event

Novelist, short story, non-fiction, and screenwriter Helen Schulman visits the Ivy in celebration of her "virtuosic" new collection of short stories, FOOLS FOR LOVE! Running the gamut from funny to sexy, poignant to surprising, these stories take on romantic enmeshment in all kinds of forms, and do so with masterful grace. Characters wander in and out of one another's stories--and beds--in these hilarious tales of lust and attachment--a rollicking feast of love and loss that is not unlike the experience of life itself.

Katie Kitamura, a writer we also love, has characterized Schulman's writing as full of "sharp observation, buoyant wit, and unfailing empathy."

We are asbolutely thrilled that Marion Winik will join Schulman in conversation in a perfect pairing of writers whose work elegantly blends wittiness with sincerity.
