This is a 3 day workshop, Sat and Sun 10th and 11th May and Saturday 17th May, 9:00 AM 4:00 PMCost $270 - covers the three days.
Use family memorabilia to create an artwork that will be cherished, by combining family photos, letters, textiles etc., with both original and ‘created’ vintage textiles and papers. You will preserve a selection of your family’s memories within a hard cover book.
During the three-day workshop you will learn to age paper and fabrics through the application of techniques such as staining, rusting, distressing, colouring, transferring, stitching, altering and attaching, to create ‘vintage’ papers and textiles. You may choose to create niches, windows, foldouts and pockets, gaining the know-how and confidence to combine and layer your materials.
Your piece will come together using a simple multi section pamphlet stitch. Your book covers may take the form of using vintage covers or new board covered with paper or fabric. A textile spine will be created to fit your pages.
