About this Event

The day you've all been waiting for! Join us for ‘Hedgentines Day’, a soon-to-be national holiday where we celebrate our love for hedges by creating new hedgerow corridors in our local landscapes.

Who is this for?

This event is for young people aged 18-30 years who want to make a difference by creating green spaces and restoring nature in Cheshire. No prior experience is necessary – just bring your enthusiasm and we’ll provide the tools and the learning.

What to expect:

We will be planting 200m of new hedging at a community farm. Along the way, we’ll explain the role of hedgerows and how they can help us restore the missing biodiversity in our landscapes. This event is a partnership project with CPRE Cheshire and The Conservation Volunteers as part of CPRE’s Hedgerow Heroes project. Youngwilders will be the main points of contact and will be facilitating the day :)

Where we’ll be planting hedgerow:

Bridge Community Farm is a large former school site in an urban area. It is run by the charity Autism Together and is a community garden/wellness centre.
