Heavy Metal Therapy will be holding a monthly peer support group at Subside and this is the fourth event. The event is open to anyone with no booking required. Please note the day/date may change on a month to month basis so check our social media posts for information. Here is some text from their website so you know what to expect.
What is a peer support group?
Our peer support groups are places where metal fans can get together to chat about music and mental health. They are not structured conversations but may focus on a topic or activity (like a playlist or doing crafts). Our groups are run by trained facilitators in peer support – they are not ‘treatment’ or mental health services, rather a chance to share experiences and discuss coping strategies. We have resources and signposting available at our groups.
Practicalities
Both of the groups are for over 18s only and you can just turn up, no need to book. If you have any accessibility requirements or any questions, please contact Adam, our events lead on Instagram or at [email protected].
Refreshments will be available to purchase at the group if you wish to, but there is no obligation to do so. Please note that we do not allow alcohol in the group, though you are welcome to stay after the group for a drink if you wish."
