DJ: Heather Christie, with Vir McCoy
Heather Christie is a trailblazer: DJ, producer, vocalist, songwriter, mentor, music label founder, and mama, Heather Christie is on a mission to usher in a new wave of feminine musical creators. She went viral in summer of 2023 with a video of her breastfeeding while DJing at Spiritweavers Gathering, and has been featured in dozens of publications including Popculture magazine for the story of her pioneering the crossroads of motherhood & music. She has been collaborating with headlining festival producers as well as producing her own music for over a dozen years, and has become a staple on ecstatic dance floors around the world with her viral track 'Tincture' (with KR3TURE). Her mama-focused label Möonbabe Records is on a mission to uplift mothers and women in music. You can hear Heather’s songs around the world on dance floor, in commercials, and on the winds of inspiration. The live set is an eclectic, booty-shaking blend of global genres, and is a deep and heightening emotive journey of presence. Heather artfully weaves in her own original music + voice as well as features live collaborators such as her husband, Vir McCoy, on ethnic instruments.
Contact Improv: Marcus van Duren
Marcus van Duren is a dancer and teaching artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Marcus has intensively studied movement and dance performance since his discovery of contact improvisation in 2013. He has had the pleasure of studying with Chris Aiken, Angie Hauser, Frey Faust, Scott Wells, Kathleen Hermesdorf, Ray Chung, Martin Keogh, Nita Little, Sarah Shelton Mann and many others. Marcus actively investigates new ways of moving and understanding movement as a member of the international Axis Syllabus community. In addition to appreciating dance as a performing art, Marcus sees dance, especially contact improvisation, as a life practice. Marcus is endlessly curious about how dance can be used to access different states of being and uncover new ways of relating to self and other.
Yoga: Katie McClung
Katie McClung is a yoga instructor, visual artist, musician, educator, and dance enthusiast who has been a part of the ecstatic dance community for over a decade. She has also been a non profit program manager and events manager for many years. Katie combines her skills, interests, talents, and playfulness in order to create an inviting space and joyous experience for dance attendees.
