We are so excited to be welcoming Diana from Diana Morrison's Designs back to the studio with her fabulous workshop.Heat transfer printing is an exciting and unusual way of printing your own fabrics using specialist dyes which are initially applied to papers and then transferred to fabric using a heat process to activate the dyes.
On the workshop you will spend time experimenting with a variety of techniques on various papers to create interesting textured backgrounds for prints. We will then progress to transferring the paper images to a variety of fabrics using resist methods such as lace, feathers, plant forms and cut paper stencils.
During the session you will learn:
Colouring with specialist dyes, pencils and crayons.
Resist methods
Cutting paper stencils
Selecting appropriate plant forms to act as resist objects
Printing using lace as a stencil
