About this Event
Heat waves. Storms. Flooding. Drought. Is Brighton and Hove ready for climate change?
The impacts of climate change are already being felt in Brighton and Hove, and there is more to come. The Council has an Adaptation Plan, adopted in 2024. This will be a chance to learn about it, and to update, with new information from the Climate Change Committee and other sources. Are the risks fully understood? And are we doing enough?
The discussion will be led by Andrew Coleman, Senior Lecturer at the University of Brighton, and an authority on the subject. Andrew wrote an extended Briefing Paper for Climate:Change on the City's adaptation plan (see https://www.climatechangebh.org.uk/perspectives/climate-change-adaptation-in-brighton-and-hove).
