About this Event
Join us for a fun and educational workshop where you'll learn about the benefits of planting native trees in your backyard and create a personalised tree planting plan for your home. Workshop attendees will go home with appropriate native tube stock which you can confidently plant in your garden to ensure future cooler summers.
When: 7th of Devember 2024
- Session 1 : 9:30AM - 10:30AM
- Session 2: 11:00AM - 12:00PM
Where: Rockdale Library, Level 3
This workshop is available to Bayside residents who would like to plant native trees in their private garden only. Registration will require attendees to provide their home address as this information will need to be used:
- to validate that they are a Bayside resident and that they have garden space appropriate for tree planting.
- to include a birds eye view (satelite image - as seen below) of their property in their personalised workshop handout (tree planting plan).

Skill Level:
No prior gardening experience or native plant knowledge is required - everyone is welcome!
Transportation:
Rockdale Library is easy to commute to via car (ample nearby parking) or public transport (5min walk from Rockdale Station). However you choose to attend, please consider you will need to transport your chosen native tube stock (small potted plant) back home with you.

By planting native trees in your garden you can help Bayside Council grow our tree canopy cover, create a cooler microclimate over your home and help you, your family, and local wildlife, adapt to urban heat and predicted hotter summers.
