Are you an artist? Do you want to Celebrate Killeen?? Would you like bragging rights AND a $3,000 cash award for painting YOUR 🥇winning 🥇 "Celebrate Killeen" themed painting onto the 4x4ft heart ❤️ sculpture (which WE'LL provide and later install) in Downtown Killeen for generations to enjoy???

🎨 Submissions DUE between 12/10 & 12/13
🎨 Submissions delivered to Frames and Things (324 E Ave D)
🎨 All renderings submitted must be 8x11 and ready to be hang
🎨 The Review Panel Judging will occur 12/17 at 6p!
🎨 The Winner/chosen design will be announced that night
🎨 Renderings that were hangable will be displayed in January
🎨 The ❤️ form will be delivered to the artist December 18th
🎨 Half of AWARD will be provided on December 18th
🎨 The winning artist will have 12/18 to 3/15 to PAINT their ❤️
🎨 Painted heart is due at Frames and Things on March 15
🎨 The second half of the AWARD is given after painted heart (meeting initial proposal design on time) is delivered.
🎨 The heart will then be installed by Killeen Creators and City staff for unveiling at the Celebrate Killeen festival in April!
The Hearts of Killeen Sculpture Series is an annual juried contest created and coordinated by our Community Art Initiative (CAI) to support local artists and celebrate the hearts and cultures of Killeen. Each year we will select a theme and promote a Call for Submissions for art reflecting that theme to adorn a heart sculpture created locally by CAI member, Perry Draper (owner of the Art and More Store). Each year, the winning art and sculpture will be unveiled at the annual Celebrate Killeen festival.
