New date, same location and time!!!!Saturday, March 8, 2025: Heartland Saddle Club Horse Health Day/Tack Swap, Lincoln County Fairgrounds Beef Barn, North Platte. Load up your extra horse tack and join the fun at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds for a day of learning and swapping with your friends! Plan on setting up for set-up and tack swap at 9:00CT, with our speaker from 10-12:00, a break at noon for potluck lunch, then from 1:00-3:00 more time to learn about faithful mounts.
Our featured speaker for the day is TL Meyer, current Livestock Systems Educator, covering Thedford and surrounding areas. Her knowledge encompasses both cattle and horses, both which she has spent a lifetime acquiring a wealth of knowledge!
Current topics for the day include recognizing confirmation correctness as well as defects in our equine friends and how that influences health, soundness and abilities. We will also cover equine nutrition, special requirements for different stages and activity levels throughout our horses’ lives, also to include learning and recognizing your horse’s actual body condition scores. Participants are encouraged to bring any feed tags or hay sample tests to discuss. Q & A to follow.
The beef barn is a heated facility with bleachers for seating and tables for tack display, but feel free to bring your own lawnchairs if that is more comfortable. This is a member’s only activity, but we encourage and welcome new members at any time!
