LOCATION: Hearthwood TownhomesCAPACITY: The truth is, we can have a few different games going at once. I'm advertising this group on NextDoor, too, as there are many people that are averse to FB (I'm one of them. Ugh.) Please RSVP if you think you're going to come, and just show up. We'll see what we've got going on. If there's too many people here? That will be a first! I'll deal with that happy problem if it occurs.
AGES: This is not a strict "adults only" event, but, it's not really a kids' game night, either. Kids popping in/out because you are here is awesome. However, we don't have a baby/toddler proof house, don't have kid toys laying around, and don't want people going up or downstairs either. If you've got an older kid that's totally cool being a part of the gaming action and they can handle the game at hand, sweet! If you're questioning coming and you have kids, send me a message and lets talk. I'm not wanting to be exclusive to no kids, but, I also just need this to not feel like a total circus, either.
GAMES AVAILABLE: We have over 30 board games, and a list with photos and descriptions will be put in the "Files" section of this group (see link at the end of this invitation for easy access). We have cards and a few games that are easy and quick to teach/play. Feel free to bring a favorite game with you! Please note, we aren't going to be playing any long, intense strategy or fantasy games like D&D, Risk, etc.
GAME SELECTION: Details on how games will be chose for the evening will be forthcoming, as we've received a lot of advice ranging from random choosing, choosing in advance, rotating, scheduling, surprise, and ...more? Feel free to offer your suggestions if you've been a part of a game night and have input for us! This event invitation will be updated when we figure it out. We may also test out a few different methods as we move forward.
FOOD: We are excited to provide some snacks for the evening. It's not necessary to attend, but please feel free to bring a food or snack contribution if you would like.
BEVERAGES: Please feel free to bring your own beverages or a glass/mug/bottle for water. Although we don't drink alcohol, you are welcome to bring a beer or a glass of wine. However, please note that this isn't the right time/place for heavy drinking. We're assuming that you're going to handle yourself. (Yes, I know... ASS-U-me...)
QUESTIONS: Please message me on FB or NextDoor if you have any questions, concerns, or input. I've hosted game nights in the past, but haven't had an open-invitation to start a more community oriented approach.
