About this Event
Hearth & Soul is a one-night-only cabaret that transforms Kingsmen Coffee into an intimate space for connection, artistry, and community. Join us for an evening of live performances where local artists share monologues, poetry, music, and visual art that reflect raw human experience. Every ticket, raffle entry, and moment shared will directly support our upcoming production of The Woods by David Mamet.
This fundraiser is more than a showcase. It's a chance to stand behind independent theatre in Dallas. By attending, you're helping us cover essential production costs like securing performance rights, purchasing lumber and props, building costumes, and providing stipends to our cast and crew. Together we're creating opportunities for artsists who are building the next wave of theatre in Dallas.
Whether you're a long-time supporter of the arts or simply curious to discover new voices, this event offers a night of connection you won't forget.
Who We Are
Shatorey Watson (Artistic Director) is a returning Dallas native, having studied theatre in Houston and Oklahoma. She is ready to kickstart her Dallas theatre journey. She is the founder of Agape Zohar Productions, a company dedicated to showcasing the heart of God through his first language, artistic creation. Founded in 2022, the production of The Woods by David Mamet will be its first public production. Shatorey is excited to embark on this journey in partnership with TaylaVision to bring life to a story that represents the truth behind unspoken words.
Tayla Underwood (Artistic Producer) is a Dallas native and proud alumna of Florida A&M University, The #1 Public HBCU. She has performed in regional productions at Theatre Arlington (Chicken and Biscuits), Bishop Arts Theatre Center (Jet Fuel), and Theatre Three (Intimate Apparel). Tayla is a member of the 2nd annual Thought Process playwriting cohort at Second Thought Theatre, and in April of this year, she founded TaylaVision, an entertainment production company dedicated to centering the truth, resilience, and humanity buried in untold histories -- transforming memory into movement and truth into a force for radical presence.
This production marks a first step for Shatorey as a director, and Tayla is proud to support her vision, helping bring this story to the stage. By attending or supporting this fundraiser, you're helping turn this shared vision into a reality.
