Course Overview and Objectives:This Irish Heart Foundation-accredited Heartsaver CPR AED course is designed for individuals who want to learn life-saving CPR techniques and how to effectively use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). It is particularly suited for healthcare staff, carers, care assistants, childcare workers, and parents. The course focuses on equipping participants with the knowledge and skills needed to respond to cardiac emergencies and choking incidents for adults, children, and infants.
Course Content and Materials:
The course covers the following key areas:
Basic life support, including CPR for adults, children, and infants
How to safely and effectively use an AED in emergencies
Techniques for relieving choking in various age groups
Step-by-step response protocols for sudden cardiac arrest
Participants will have hands-on practice with the latest training equipment, receiving real-time feedback from our experienced instructors to enhance skill development. All training materials are provided, and participants will be able to practice on advanced manikins equipped with feedback technology.
Assessment and Qualification:
Participants will be assessed on their practical ability to perform CPR and use an AED in simulated emergency situations.
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a completion card from the Irish Heart Foundation and the American Heart Association, valid for 2 years.
