“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.” - RumiI invite you to dive deep into your body and into your heart with this fully immersive and relaxing workshop.
We will begin with a couple of pranayamas (breath work) to calm the mind and to harvest our connection with our true self.
We will then move into a yin sequence with some hip openers (which help to release stored emotion) and heart opening poses with a strong focus on the heart meridian. Yin yoga is mainly a passive floor based practice that works on the interconnected tissues such as ligaments, tendons and the fascia. It also works on unblocking the energy lines within the body so that chi/energy can flow freely. We will hold the poses for up to 5 minute and there will always be an alternative pose available if needed. This is a very mindful/mediative practice and can be deeply relaxing.
We will then go into deep meditative state with a full yoga nidra which will include a little heart healing visualisation. Yoga Nidra means 'yogic sleep' and can help to take you into a profound state of relaxation in which you can begin to surf the liminal space between sleep and wakefulness. Yoga Nidra has many benefits; on top of feeling incredibly relaxed it can also enhance your creativity, relax the nervous system and even aids lucid dreaming. I highly recommend it and you don't need to do anything at all other than lie down and receive the Nidra. You can even fall asleep if you want to.
We will end with a loving kindness meditation 'Metta Bhavana'.
