We are having a 17.2 mile group training run August 12 at 6 am that will run part of the Heart of America Course including our good friend, Easley Hill.Everyone is welcome whether or not you are training for the HOA marathon or relay. If you want to run more than 17.2 miles, you can add more mileage at the end or run an out and back at Pierpont (towards Bonne Femme Church Rd) before heading to the end.
We will meet at Devils Ice Box parking lot at Rock Bridge State Park (GPS Coordinates 38.870892, -92.326634)
We will run the loop (includes part of old course) back to Devils Ice Box parking lot where you can cool off in the natural rock tunnel nearby.
Feel free to carry your own beverage, but there will be 4 water stations (look for coolers). ~3.1 miles at Route K & S Hill Creek Rd, ~6.6 mi (near Smith Hatchery and Dothage), ~10.5 mi (bottom of Easley Hill), ~13.5 mi (on left side of road in a grassy driveway) - bottled water will be provided.
This course will not be marked. Please take written instructions or your smart phone to help navigate if you are concerned about getting off course.

Course Instructions for Training Run (these are actual course instructions for the marathon with modifications for the training run):
Start at Devils Ice Box, Rock Bridge State Park
Left on Rt-K
Follow Providence Rd/Rte K to Old Plank
Left on Old Plank Rd S.
Old Plank to Smith Hatchery Rd.
Smith Hatchery Rd. past Cooper’s Landing
Route connects to Katy Trail just past Cooper’s Landing. Get on trail – not River Rd.
Katy Trail until intersects with River Rd. Stay left. DO NOT CROSS ROAD AND CONTINUE ON TRAIL.
Left on Missouri Rte N (Easley Hill) – Turn left. Go up. And Up. And Up!
Follow Rte N to Pierpont
At Pierpont, Left on 163 (cutting through to complete loop back to Rock Bridge State Park)
