Weaving heart garlands and medium heart wreaths
Beginners basket weaving, one day course.
There is a certain beauty in weaving, the smell of the willow, the feel of the bark, seeing your very own grow in front of your eyes.
This will be a half day workshop where you'll have the opportunity to learn about different weaving materials, how to collect and prepare them and most importantly on this day, how to weave a simple heart shape to create small hearts for garlands and medium heart wreaths for yourself and your loved ones.
Rowenna has over 20 years of experience in leading workshops and is an experienced Arts in Health practitioner, having worked in the private and public sector leading workshops and creating commissioned work from simple baskets to 8' snowdrops.
The workshop will be held near Bala, nestled between the Berwyn hills and the legendary Llyn Tegid.
What you need to bring:
- Comfortable clothing and possibly, your slippers.
- Secateurs, if you have a pair.
- Bodkin or a flat head screw driver, if you have one.
- A packed lunch.
- Cushions for your own comfort.
- Waterproofs in case you fancy taking a short walk during the lunch hour to the lake shore or up the valley.
- A readiness to learn and embrace a new skill that will have you looking at baskets, hedgerows and your neighbours gardens in a whole new light.
