This 90-minute ceremonial experience is a collaborative offering by psychotherapists and ceremonial facilitators, Esau Aguayo and Justin Yasgoor, that brings together cacao medicine, Indigenous wisdom, somatic awareness, and immersive sound.
The evening opens with a grounding cacao ceremony guided by Esau, creating a heart-centered and intentional container for presence, reflection, and connection. Drawing from his work with cacao-cultivating families in Chiapas and his background in Gestalt psychotherapy, Esau invites participants to settle into the body, clarify intention, and open relational space with self and community.
From this grounded foundation, the experience transitions into a didgeridoo-based sound journey led by Justin. Using the deep, resonant voice of the didgeridoo, Justin offers a steady sonic landscape that supports nervous-system regulation, embodied awareness, and deep listening. The sound journey is approached not as a performance but as a ceremonial and relational practice, allowing vibration and rhythm to guide participants into states of rest, reflection, and integration.
Together, cacao and sound create a cohesive ceremonial arc — grounding, opening, and attuning participants to both inner and collective rhythms. This offering is trauma-informed, gently held, and open to all. No prior experience with cacao or sound meditation is necessary.

About the Facilitators:
Esau Aguayo is a practicing psychotherapist and ceremonial facilitator devoted to bridging modern psychology with Indigenous wisdom. Born in California, Esau moved to Mexico to reconnect with his roots and lineage, inspired by his grandmother’s work with cacao. He currently lives in San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas, where he works closely with local families who cultivate cacao, deepening his relationship with the medicine through lived practice and community. Trained in Gestalt psychotherapy in Guadalajara, Esau travels throughout the year between Mexico and California, facilitating ceremonies and events while maintaining a therapeutic practice in both countries.
Justin Yasgoor is a practicing psychotherapist in California with a master’s degree in spiritual depth psychology and over 25 years of experience playing the didgeridoo. As a teenager, Justin traveled to northeast Arnhem Land in Australia, where he lived in the Yolŋu community of Yirrkala and volunteered during the early development of the Buku-Larrŋgay Mulka Centre, a community-run Indigenous arts organization. During this time, he became acquainted with traditional approaches to playing the yidaki (didgeridoo) and developed a deep respect for its cultural and ceremonial significance. Throughout his life, Justin has remained devoted to Indigenous wisdom traditions and sound as a pathway to embodied awareness, offering the didgeridoo in ceremonial and healing contexts that support grounding, presence, and deep listening.
