Calling all music enthusiasts ages 8 and older (and their accompanying adults) for a fantastic journey into the world of music. We proudly present an African Drumming Journey - an event that'll make your Saturday unforgettable!
🎹🎻 In "African Rhythm Journey," Tiffany Nicely, the Diaspora Drumming trio, and the Fredonia African Drumming Ensemble present an original take on traditional rhythms on West Africa and the African Diaspora. Using authentic instruments in a performance spanning three continents, performers will present four African musical pillars: community, patterns, polyrhythm, and Improvisation.✨

Bios:
Under the direction of Dr. Tiffany Nicely, the Fredonia African Drumming Ensemble performs music of West African countries Guinea, Ghana, Mali, Ivory Coast, and Burkina Faso, using authentic instruments. Fredonia has a long history of world percussion, and this ensemble showcases the university's dedication to excellence in traditional styles.
Under the direction of Ringo Brill, Diaspora Drumming is an ensemble dedicated to the musics of West Africa and the African Diaspora. Group members have studied traditional percussion in Guinea, Ghana, Brazil, Cuba, and Mexico. Bringing authentic instruments and rhythms to Western New York since 2004, Diaspora Drumming keeps audiences learning and grooving!
