About this Event
The main theme of this year's conference is the importance of recording the birds you hear and see and how all records not only increase our knowledge of birds in Wales, but can help conservation, habitat restoration and maintenance. The theme will be illustrated with two keynote presentations by Andy King and Dr Stephanie Tyler (both holders of WOS Lifetime Achievement Awards) and a series of short presentations by amateur Welsh birders who enjoy participating in a range of surveys and projects. Julian Hughes (RSPB) and Richard Facey (NRW) will discuss how surveys and projects provide invaluable information for wider work by professional conservation organisations. Finally, Ieuan Evans (BTO) will talk about recording in the future, established and new techniques.
Our President, Iolo Williams, will summarise the day's events and there will be the usual stalls, displays, raffle and Silent Auction (great prizes), excellent refreshments and the presentation of Lifetime Achievement, Student Research and Photo Competition awards and prizes.

Young Conservationist Bursaries will be available to WOS Young Birders to help with the costs of attendance and travel.
