Grow, Taste, Learn, Play! Join UNR Extension's FREE Healthy Kids Festival, where kids discover the fun side of healthy living!About this Event
Join us in celebrating our 1st annual Healthy Kids Festival! The festival focuses on the learning environment through interactive activities ranging from learning how food grows, tasting a healthy snack, shopping for yummy fruits and vegetables, and fun physical activity and nutrition games. This festival is a free family friendly event for children 3- 8 years old. Bring water! & Don’t forget to wear your sneakers!
- Grow Station - Discover how sweet potatoes grow & how they are harvested
- Try Station - Taste a yummy sweet potato snack, featuring a UNR created recipe (sweet potato & banana smoothie)
- Buy Station - Enjoy a free "farmer's market," where children can “purchase” fresh fruits and vegetables to take home & eat
- Physical Literacy Station - Engage in structured physical activity opportunities by playing games & doing various activities
- Nutrition/MyPlate Station - Highlight healthy snack foods & creating healthy meals using MyPlate
Visit the festival any time between 1 and 4pm on Saturday, September 13. Registration is encouraged but not required.
