The event is meant to celebrate two decades of HealthRight Kenya's existence. It will also be a culmination of the Voices of Change Campaign which is being implemented in collaboration with select Universities. The campaign is focused on the growing concerns of mental health challenges and violence in higher education institutions. We are placing students at the centre of this effort, recognizing their vulnerability to current social and economic pressures. Our goal is to engage students as active co-creators of solutions that address not only immediate campus challenges but also provide insights for preventing these issues among secondary school students. This initiative is a crucial step towards building collaborations to:
Reduce increasing mental health caseloads among young people.
Address rising violence on campuses.
Improve access to support and aftercare for survivors.
The insights from these student conversations will be used to create a Policy Brief: From Campus Conversations to Policy Action. This document will be a tool for engaging decision-makers and encouraging investment in campus mental health support.
It will also guide the development of training programs for trainers to ensure these interventions are sustainable.
