In this presentation, expert speakers, Glahnnia "Renee" Rates and Chidinma "Chi Chi" Oparaugo will delve deep into the systemic disparities undermining healthcare quality and accessibility across Nevada. Renee draws from her extensive public health, epidemiology, and community health education background. Renee will highlight innovative strategies to elevate healthcare standards and address public health disparities across diverse environments. Her expertise is complemented by her roles in various leadership positions, including her work with the American Public Health Association and her foundational role at the BCHWA, emphasizing her dedication to health equity and support for underserved communities.
Chidinma Oparaugo, with her rich experience as a Clinical Quality Analyst and a patient advocate, will highlight her hands-on encounters in healthcare that underscore the significant impacts of patient advocacy. From facilitating improved communication between healthcare providers and patients to correcting critical prescription errors, her experiences illustrate the profound necessity for empathy and precision in healthcare delivery.
