About this Event
The conference will feature a number of leading speakers in healthcare law and ethics.
Following this, we are delighted to announce that Professor Sally Sheldon will be giving the annual Healthcare Law and Regulation Unit (HLRU) Public Lecture on 28th June 2023 at 5:30pm. The lecture draws on Professor Sheldon’s recent book (with Professor Gayle Davis, Dr Jane O'Neill, and Dr Clare Parker) ‘The Abortion Act 1967: A Biography of a UK Law’, and will focus on the Abortion Act and how it has acquired meaning over the last fifty years. The book examines the complex and shifting legal and cultural meanings of this piece of legislation as it is interpreted and takes effect in practice. Ultimately, it illustrates that the Abortion Act is a 'living law'.
The full programme and registration details for the conference and public lecture will be available shortly here . Any questions can be directed to the Unit’s Director Dr Danielle Griffiths ([email protected]) So far, both events will be in person only and held in the School of Law and Social Justice Building at the University of Liverpool.
