About this Event
You said – we listened. You’ve told us that your community faces barriers to accessing health services, and that access is not always the same as for non‑disabled people. So, The Redbridge Forum are organising this Community Event in conjunction with the London Borough of Redbridge, which is the first one of its kind.
We are offering a safe space for people with a Learning Disability, their carers and the autistic spectrum community an opportunity to engage with health professionals from a range of service areas. Come and find out more about health eating, dental hygiene, screening services, diabetes, health cooking, getting active and lots more!
There will be a dance performance followed by a chance for everyone to join in and jewellery making on Redbridge Forum’s stand. This event is suitable for adults and children – it is half term – bring the family along.
The Mayor of Redbridge will be opening the event
There will be a lot of people to talk to about things that may be of interest or concern to you. The Redbridge Health bus will be on site (indoors not actually on the bus) with a chance for quick check-ups for things such as blood pressure and lots of advice.
We hope to see as many of you as possible to give you the chance to meet health professionals and each other!
