Understand and experience the bandhas as the secret tantra techniques they really are, the release and channeling of prana.
Why unlock the “locks”? Bandhas are often practiced in hatha yoga as a physical, muscular engagement. Often we learn to engage bandhas without first exploring how to release held tensions, which may hold us in a “locked” or contracted state. These days explore a range of movements and meditations to enable you to “abandha”, to release the prana and direct its flow.
The course combines a scientific understanding of anatomy with the experiential anatomy of the yogis, through an in depth study of the pelvis, diaphragm and throat. We will also understand how the bandhas have a profound effect on the nervous system. This includes a study of the original tantra texts and Upanishads which describe the prana and bandpass and techniques from a range of movement traditions to release tension and restore to the body.
You can book this course on its own or as part of our Advanced 300-hour teacher training.
