About this Event
After a series of traumatic events, a high school English teacher in the South Bronx began retreating to the mountains in search of healing. The wilderness mended her spirit, reignited her love of skiing, and set her on a multi-year quest to become the first woman to backcountry ski all 33 of the Catskill High Peaks—solo.
On Thursday, November 6, join Campmor for an inspiring evening with Julie McGuire. We’ll screen Julie’s brand-new 15-minute documentary Queen of the Catskills that chronicles her journey, followed by a live Q&A session where Julie will share behind-the-scenes stories, lessons learned, and what it means to find belonging in the backcountry.
This event is more than adventure—it’s about giving back. 100% of raffle proceeds will be donated to , a nonprofit dedicated to empowering underserved youth through transformative outdoor experiences.
