Healing Through Grief: A Kintsugi Workshop
Grief changes us. It leaves cracks and tender places in our lives that cannot be undone—but they can be honored, held with care, and even transformed.
In this workshop, we will explore grief through the gentle and symbolic art of Kintsugi, the Japanese practice of repairing broken pottery with gold. Rather than hiding what is broken, Kintsugi highlights the cracks, creating something more beautiful for having been mended. In the same way, our own experiences of loss can be acknowledged, honored, and integrated as part of our ongoing story.
This experience is both reflective and creative. Through guided discussion, mindfulness, and hands-on practice, you will:
- Create a meaningful piece of Kintsugi art to take home as a symbol of resilience and healing.
- Explore gentle reflections on the grief process in a safe, supportive environment.
- Learn grounding practices drawn from yoga and mindfulness to help hold grief with compassion.
- Connect with others who understand the tender journey of loss.
The workshop is facilitated by Kimberley Gunning,MSW,RSW, a registered Social Worker and Yoga Teacher, who brings together therapeutic wisdom and mindful practices to create a safe, nurturing, and professional space for healing.
You do not need prior artistic experience—only a willingness to show up as you are. All materials will be provided.
Come as you are. Leave with a piece of art that reflects both your grief and your resilience, a reminder that even through loss, there can be beauty, strength, and renewal.
Please note: Therapeutic workshops facilitated by an RSW may be eligible for coverage under some extended benefits plans. A receipt can be provided upon request. We recommend checking with your benefit provider for confirmation.
