Healing through Cultural Connection and Bharatanatyam
Join us for free, trauma-informed Bharatanatyam workshops designed to nourish body and mind! Each 2-hour session begins with a grounding check-in and light refreshments, followed by an hour of expressive dance and a reflective discussion over tea. A quiet reflection room will also be available for any participants throughout the workshops
Open to the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous & People of Colour) Community with priority for LGBTIQAP+ forcibly displaced people such as refugees and asylum seekers.

These workshops will slowly build on the skills shared in the previous workshop and we encourage you to register for the series of three. If you can only make one or two however, you are still very welcome to join these inclusive sessions.

We request you select which community you identify with since event participants are selected according to the priority groups mentioned in the event information. Your name and your community , if selected, will be shared with the event organiser, external to Council, for them to allocate the priority groups first, for communications regarding the program and for them to have a copy of the attendance lists for their planning. In order to measure how well we are delivering our service when engaging with diverse and specific communities, we will use the information in a de-identified manner, towards a count of our focus communities accessing the service. Program facilitators will give us information on their participants for this reporting purpose.
