Headlong Hearts have deep musical roots together. Mark and Hugh gigged together in high school. Matt B and Brad toured Europe together in The Paperboys. Brad, Matt K, and Hugh were all members of the early-2000s bluegrass sextet Mountain Bluebirds.Together as Headlong Hearts since 2017, this five-piece band crafts catchy and poignant original songs, sings in stacked harmony, and weaves their musical fabric on violin, banjo, mandolin, guitars, bass and drums.
They are known for their live show that sees audiences inspired by their lyrics, lifted by their melodies, fired up by their playing, and amused by their repartee.
Headlong Hearts are always busy playing concerts, festivals, and events in Vancouver and western Canada. Their first record - What We Call Forever (2022) – will be followed up in February 2025 with the release of their next full-length all-original record Creatures of Habit.
