HE Summit

Project Overview: To mark International Men's Day on November 19, 2024, HEvolve will host its Inaugural HE Summit on November 23, 2024 at Y Arena, Ikoyi. This one-day summit will bring together thought leaders, mental health experts, and change-makers to discuss crucial issues affecting men today, including mental health, societal roles, and positive masculinity.

Problem Statement: In Nigeria, men’s mental health issues remain largely undiscussed, leading to high rates of depression, substance abuse, and suicide. Societal expectations often prevent men from seeking help, reinforcing harmful gender stereotypes that equate vulnerability with weakness. Despite a growing recognition of mental health challenges, there is still a lack of targeted initiatives addressing men's specific needs in this area.

Solution: The HE Summit will address these challenges head-on by fostering open dialogue, providing education, and advocating for systemic change. The theme for this year International Men’s Day is "Positive Male Role Models", focusing on reshaping masculinity in a way that encourages emotional health, strong relationships, and social responsibility. The summit will also showcase real-life success stories and provide a roadmap for men to take proactive steps toward self-improvement and positive societal contributions.
