We’re excited to announce that NAMI SMC has been selected as one of the few affiliates to offer Peer Certification Training and Placement through the California Department of Healthcare Access and Information (HCAI). Are you interested in becoming a Peer Support Services Worker? We can provide the training and connect you with potential employment opportunities! Check out more details below to attend one of our information sessions.If you meet the following criteria, this could be your pathway to a rewarding career:
-You’re at least 18 years old
-You have a high school diploma or equivalent
-You identify as someone with personal experience in the recovery process from mental illness or substance use disorder, either as a consumer or as a parent, caregiver, or family member of a consumer
-You’re willing to share your experiences and are dedicated to the recovery process
-You have access to a computer, laptop, and internet connection
-You can commit to and actively participate in the full 80-hour live online training program
