HBCU DAY at The Lewis: Cultivating Activism – Their Impact Then and Now ✨🎓
On Saturday, March 29, we’re bringing the yard vibes to the Reginald F. Lewis Museum! Join us for a powerful day of Black excellence, history, and culture as we honor the impact of HBCUs and their role in shaping change in our country. Hosted by the Hype Man himself Kyle on the Mic and 92Q's own, Persia Nicole, this is an event you won’t want to miss!
Get Ready for:
•College admissions counselors conducting on site admissions- Bring your transcript!
•Panel discussions on HBCU activism, moderated by Dr. Ida Jones of Morgan State University
•Greek Step Show performances to bring the energy
•Educational sessions on funding your HBCU journey led by Paula Dofat
•Resource tables with community organizations
•To end the day off right, an HBCU Happy Hour, wine tasting for guests 21+ over & live music by DJ NoID
🎟️ Cost- FREE!
Featured Panelists: Baltimore City Councilwoman Phylicia Porter, Maryland Senator Michael Bowen Mitchell, and other powerful HBCU alums who have shaped history through activism and leadership.
From Omega Psi Phi’s Pi Chapter bringing Malcolm X to Morgan’s campus, to student-led protests in the ‘70s & ‘90s, we’re diving deep into the role of HBCUs as catalysts for change.
Wear your school colors, rep your Greek letters, and show up for the culture! This event is inspired by our iWitness: Media and the Movement exhibition and in partnership with the Malcolm Bernard HBCU College Fair.
📍 Pull up to The Lewis—where history, activism, and culture come alive!
