Dear Members, Alumni and Friends,We are delighted to invite you to celebrate the official opening of our new landing stage at Hild Bede Boat Club!
Two years have gone into its procurement, and this event (organised thanks to the College) is the perfect opportunity to honour the efforts of previous Presidents, the College, and our incredibly generous alumni. Please see below for details!
Run of the day:
- 12:00 – Reception at The White House, hosted by Principal Simon Forrest
- Blessing & Opening of the new landing stage by our College Chaplain, and Hild Bede alumna and Olympic Bronze Medallist, Lauren Irwin
- Fundraising opportunity (raffle or auction, TBC) - please get in touch if you have any items that could be added to this
- Alumni vs Current Students Race on the River Wear – a chance to get back in a boat and compete for glory (and maybe a prize!)
- Drinks and social at the Vern
Dress Code: Smart casual, Boat Club Blazers encouraged!
This will be a special occasion to celebrate our history, our future, and the continued strength of the HBBC community in and beyond Durham.
