On Sunday, April 21st, at 12:30 pm, Haylee Koon will present her graduate capstone project and flute recital at the Cisel Recital Hall, located on the Montana State University Billings campus.
Haylee is a graduate of North Toole County High School in Sunburst, Montana, and received her undergraduate degree in Music Education and Flute Performance from Montana State University Billings. She has been studying flute with Tyler Menzales during her time as a graduate student and has continued to remain involved with the music department ensembles. Haylee is active in jazz band, commercial ensembles, and woodwind ensembles, and conducts a flute ensemble for undergraduate instrumentalists looking to work on their flute skills. Haylee currently teaches music at Bench Elementary School, co-conducts the Billings Public Schools 6th grade honor band, and is the assistant band director at Senior High School.
The recital will include a presentation of her arrangements of middle school flute ensemble flex repertoire, as well as a performance of works by Hindemith and Schocker! Local flute players and educators will be performing the capstone arrangements and Tim Schoessler will be accompanying Haylee’s recital on piano.
The recital is free and open to the public.
