About this Event

Join Indiana Audubon for a great fall morning of birding among the newest sites on the Indiana Birding Trail. Hayes Arboretum offer excellent opportunities to connect with nature in eastern Indiana.

By this date we should be in the full swing of fall bird migration, with many flycatchers, vireos, and warblers to find. The goal this morning is to explore the drabber, less distinctive, tricky IDs of these temporary visitors on their way south to the tropics. Expect a variety of habitats to maximize our birding.

This field trip, led by Hayes' naturalist Jenilee Braun and Cope Program Coordinator Jeremy Proeschel. The total time is around 3-4 hours, finishing before lunch. We will meet at the Nature Center Parking Lot (801 Elks Rd). Once there, we will caravan/carpool to the East Side for birding together.

Registration

Registration is required and limited to 20 participants. Event tickets are $5 per person for Indiana Audubon members and $15 per person for non-members.

Accessibility

This excursion includes a several walks of .25-1 mile distances within the Hayes Arboretum . Most trails will be hard packed soil, but not paved. The building is accessible.
