Take your dance to the next level in this 8-week choreography course, where we’ll break down Karen-Iliana’s dynamic Mejance choreography to “Hayati” by Matias Hazrum—a vibrant piece full of grace, fire, and emotional expression.Each session is 2 hours, totaling 16 hours of focused instruction. The first hour will cover the technique and drills that support the movements in that week’s section. The second hour will be devoted to learning, refining, and embodying the choreography. We’ll progress through the piece section by section, with space for dancers to personalize and grow into their own version of Hayati.
This piece includes veil work as part of the entrance and transitions, offering dancers the chance to explore dynamic layering, flow, and presence. Veil technique will be integrated throughout the course, with modifications provided for different skill levels and veil types.
By the end of the course, dancers will have learned the full choreography and built the skills and confidence to continue practicing, performing, or adapting it in their own way.
This is a progressive series, meaning each class builds on the last; consistent attendance is encouraged to get the most out of the experience.
Whether your goal is to perform, deepen your artistry, or challenge yourself creatively, this course offers a beautiful opportunity to explore musicality, veil work, expression, and Raqs Sharqi technique within a professional-level choreography.
