Hay Shantymen first came together in 2016 and are united by strong friendships, a love of singing, the sea and good beer - not necessarily in that order. They make a welcome return to the Globe for another early Christmas celebration.Their roots might be on the banks of the River Wye but the Hay Shantymen travel across the country singing traditional shanties and other foot-stomping seafaring songs. Among their recent highlights are Hay Festival, Falmouth and Bristol and Port Isaac Shanty Festivals, and Latitude. Wherever they go, audiences are captivated by their powerful harmonies and infectious sense of fun.
If you have seen them live, you will be aware that they take their fundraising very seriously. To date they have raised nearly £15,000 for their chosen charity, the RNLI.
This promises to be lively evening and tickets will sell fast.
