Have A Go One Day Event at Oaktree Farm
This training competition gives you everything a normal one day event (Dressage, showjumping and cross country phase!) EXCEPT... there will be no eliminations! If we feel you need help coaches are on hand throughout the day to step in, put jumps down, give you instruction. We will get you round!
(The only case we will ask someone to call it a day is if we feel there is a safety risk and that it isn't a positive training ask to carry on!)
Numbers will also be limited so you can expect the day to not be as busy as a 'typical' event.
There will also be coaches and helpers present at each discipline. You will see them with their tabards on! This means if you would like help we can give you warm up pointers, pop jumps up and down or simply remind you to breath!
Dressage you are allowed callers.
The showjumping phase will go up in height throughout the day with options of cross poles, 40-50cm, 60-70cm, 75 - 80cm. This phase will run as per a competition. You will warm up in a separate arena and then go in the main ring to do your round. There will be help on hand in both the warm up and the main ring to help if required. (this is help if we see someone struggling - if you would like to be warmed up by a coach please book a VIP ticket)
On the cross country the fences will be flagged with the option of a cross pole at most fences. As long as you go through the flags you can choose which fences you jump. If your getting going on the way round you can choose to jump a bit more if you want to! There will be options from teeny tiny to 90cm. You choose! There is an option water, optional ditches and optional bank.
There will be showjumping and cross country course walks with a coach a times throughout the day. Course walk also available from 3PM the day before.
All competitors will be receive a 'How to Prepare' booklet which will include all you need to know about the runnings of an event day. But don't worry if your not sure on the day there will be lots of people to ask!
Dress Code is smart but you don't need to be in full competition gear. You can if you like (sometimes it is good practice to simulate the whole competitive element!) but if this is not your aim for the day that is fine! As long as you are clean and have the correct safety equipment. (see rules and regs fore more details)
All competitors will receive a completion rosette .
