Welcome to Have a Blast with WiC Victoria!
Date: Tuesday, April 23
Time: 3:30 - 5:00 PM
Location: Check-in at Western Grater Office
PPE Required: Hi-viz & steel toe boots or high-ankle hiking shoes.
Proudly hosted by Western Grater Contracting Ltd. & Basic Rock Products, the afternoon will include a tour of the quarry, information session on blasting operations & equipment and will conclude with an exciting blasting demonstration!
There will be some hills and uneven blast rock but nothing significant. Steel toe-high ankle boots or at a minimum high ankle hiking shoes are recommended.
Schedule to be as follows:
- 3:30pm: Arrive at WGC Office and gather.
- 3:40pm: Shuttle up to the quarry bench and view the blast pattern. Discussion on operations, detonators, explosives and supporting equipment.
- 4:15pm: Evacuate and fire the blast. Witness from just outside the yard.
- 4:30pm: Tour yard and further discussions.
- 5:00pm: Event complete.
