Haunting on the Hill is back! We heard you last year and have worked hard with our dedicated planning committee to increase transportation into the park! We're introducing a new traffic pattern for the event, which will include free tickets for hayrides. Tickets will be available for reservation through the Capital City Museum website starting September 19. People who want to talk into the park will take Military Trail, behind Urban Woods apartments. No walking up Clifton Avenue or Pleasant Hill Drive will be permitted. This is to keep folks safe and prevent hayrides slowing down due to congestion.
We'll post more information in the coming weeks, so follow along here for updates and "how to."
If you or your organization want to give out candy on the trick-or-treat trail it's free! Sign up here: https://forms.gle/99CRJ7hFJf6pVPA8A
Haunting on the Hill: Transportation Tickets are Available NOW!!!
Transportation into the park via hayride is ticketed, but FREE. All hayride participants must take a shuttle from the Mayo-Underwood Building to the Hayride Loading Area at the Salvation Army Parking Lot. Pick-up for shuttles will only be located at the Mayo-Underwood Office Building.* Please arrive for your ticketed time. If you arrive outside your time slot, you will be waitlisted for the next available seat. You must present your ticket.
If you do not have a ticket, you’re welcome to walk into the park via Military Trail, located behind the Urban Woods Apartments. For the safety of guests no walking via Clifton Avenue or Pleasant Hill Drive is permitted.
Military Trail is an unpaved walking path with a few steps. The trail will have lights, but we recommend bringing a flashlight for each participant.
* Parking is available at the City of Frankfort Transit Center, Mayo-Underwood Parking Garage, and street parking at your discretion.

This year to ride the hay wagon to the hill you will need to get a FREE ticket OR you can walk up Military Hill!
Do I need tickets for the event?
No! The event is FREE and anyone is welcome to walk into the park using Military Trail. If you'd like to enter on a hayride, you must have a ticket.
My family member has accessibility needs, how can we attend?
Most of the park trails are paved, except the Trick-Or-Treat trail, which is gravel. There will be a transit van located at the hayride loading zone that can take you into and out of the park if you have a hayride ticket. The Military Trail is also unpaved.
I wasn't able to get a hayride ticket. Can I still come?
Absolutely! You're more than welcome to attend, as long as you're comfortable to walk in and out of the park using Military Trail. The trail is unpaved. It is a hiking path, so the terrain is uneven and there are steep parts. Kentucky Historical Society is providing guidance on the trail between the hours of 3 and 6. If you plan on coming later in the day, we recommend that you bring a flashlight for increased safety.
Can I bring a stroller?
If you're taking a hayride, all strollers must be collapsible to fit on the transit busses. Military Trail is an unpaved hiking path, so strollers are welcome but may be difficult to navigate.
We can't wait to see you on the Hill!!!
