HURRICANE MILTON UPDATE
**With the coming of Hurricane Milton to Central Florida this week, Seminole County has closed the Museum of Seminole County History and its grounds effective Monday, October 7th through Friday, October 11th with longer closures to be announced if necessary due to the storm.
As a result, we have had to cancel this week's Haunted Tours at the Museum 2024.
However, Haunted Tours has already been rescheduled for Thursday, November 21, Friday, November 22, and Saturday, November 23rd. Tickets for the October dates will still be honored. For example, if you have a ticket that was valid for Thursday, October 10th, it will now be honored on Thursday, November 21st. While we do have a strict no refunds policy, we are going to attempt to work with ticket holders as best we can. If you would like us to switch to an alternative day from the ticket date you have already bought, you may contact us using the information you received when your original e-tickets were purchased.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused anyone. Know that we are as excited as you are for Haunted Tours 2024. We look forward to seeing you all in November and hope you all stay safe!

Haunted Tours returns to the Museum of Seminole County History for another scarifying year in an event brought to you by the Seminole County Historical Society!
What's new with Haunted Tours at the Museum 2024?
The big thing we are doing differently with Haunted Tours this year is changing the week when it is hosted. We typically hold it the Thursday, Friday, Saturday before Halloween whenever that is during the month. Some of the feedback we have received from guests stated they wished it were held earlier in the month as there is so much competition with other similar events on those days. So, this year we will be offering the tours earlier in the month on October 10th, 11th, and 12th!
We also have new stories that have been added to the tour this year. Our Law and Order Room, one of the most spiritually active rooms in the museum, received a new temporary exhibit this year. The artifacts tell the story of the first sheriff of Seminole County, Charlie Hand. We are not certain if the old spiritual "residents" didn't like the change, or if it may be something related to the topic of Sheriff Hand or the artifacts themselves, but we will be highlighting what's changed in the room this year in the tours.
For those who have never visited the museum for haunted tours, there's a spectacularly scary experience waiting you.
Capacity is limited to 15 persons per tour this year. One-hour walking tours of the museum's campus begin on the hour at 6pm, 7pm, 8pm, and 9pm. The majority of the tour is held inside (and in the A/C) so the event happens rain or shine.
Bring your own ghost hunting equipment, or use ours to conduct your paranormal investigation as we track the ghosts through our halls and relay the strange phenomena which have taken place within our walls! Your ghostly guide, dressed in appropriate costumed garb, will share with you spine tingling stories of the unexplained things that have happened at the museum in both the distant and recent past.
On the tour, you might possibly encounter a spirit of an indigenous person who goes by the name of 'Tio Juan'. He is seemingly tied to the remnants of the 3500-year bald cypress tree known as the Senator that was burned down by an arson in 2012 who guards what is left of the tree.
One of the museum's buildings was built on top of what was once an early 20th century cholera ward where many victims of a fever outbreak died and seems to have remained home to the people who died there.
Does a poltergeist named Nick who is known to dislike ladies inhibit the museum's basement? Prior to 2022, we thought that Nick was gone. He'd been silent and unactive for many years. All that changed in 2022 when he came back with a vengeance!
And, finally, who has been making a mess in the kitchen? We keep having problems with the front door and a whole slew of other things that aren't just pots and pans from long ago echoing in the halls of the museum!
All tickets must be purchased online (e-tickets). All sales are final. There are no refunds. Reselling of tickets is not allowed and will void the ticket. Anyone who attempts to offer someone a resale ticket is a scammer. Don't let them steal your money!
E-tickets can only be bought at www.seminolecountyhistoricalsociety.com.
