As the sun begins to set over the Pine Barrens, join us for a spine-tingling guided hike through the mysterious trails of Black Run Preserve. With shadows growing long and whispers in the wind, this twilight trek will explore the eerie legends, strange creatures, and ghost stories tied to South Jersey’s most haunted landscape.Our Ambassadors will lead you safely on this less than a mile long journey through the forest as you experience the chilling side of nature—and maybe even glimpse something... unexplained. Warning: Strange things have been known to happen in the Barrens after dark…This hike is for adults and ghost trackers age 10 and older
Be sure to dress warmly, wear sturdy shoes, and bring bug spray, water and your courage—you’ll want it by the end. Our trails have hard and soft sand, slight elevations, roots, and stumps and some wet areas. Porta Potty is available at the beginning and end of hike.
DATE: Sunday, October 26, 2025
TIME: 4:00 - 6:00 pm (Meet at the welcome table at 3:45 am to check in.)
WHERE TO MEET: Kettle Run Road East Trailhead Entrance. This is the main trailhead for Black Run Preserve.
WHAT TO WEAR: Dress for the weather and bring a water bottle. Hiking boots, sturdy shoes, or waterproof boots are recommended.
DETAILS: This is a social/informational hike to familiarize participants with the trails of the Black Run Preserve and the Friends of the Black Run Preserve community.
